Kangana Ranaut on PM Narendra Modi meeting the Kapoor family

In an interview with Agenda Aaj Tak, the actress emphasized the significance of the Prime Minister’s engagement with the film industry. When asked about her desire for an audience with PM Narendra Modi, Kangana Ranaut remarked, “I believe our film industry definitely requires substantial guidance. It holds immense soft power that is significantly underutilized. After being part of the industry for 20 years, I can say that it feels orphaned and lacks direction. This absence of guidance leaves them vulnerable to various agendas, whether it be the Jihadi agenda or the Palestinian issue.”

Kangana elaborated on the industry’s vulnerabilities, stating, “People in the film industry can be easily swayed with a little money. They become targets for influences like drugs and hawala and can end up at parties thrown by gangsters. This makes them quite vulnerable. Therefore, the step to engage with them is crucial, as it can encourage the industry to recognize that PM Modi values their contributions. They often act out thinking no one is watching and end up attending parties in Dubai, feeling untouchable. This interaction is a positive move.”

She concluded with a call for filmmakers to be integrated into mainstream industries. She said, “We are a significant sector, yet we don’t receive the respect that other industries do. We produce numerous films and contribute significantly to the economy. Regarding my own request for a meeting with the Prime Minister, I hope to receive one soon.”
